Over the past season, I’ve been paying attention.

Not to trends.
Not to algorithms.
But to where my work feels most honest, most life-giving, and most sustainable.

And the answer has become quietly, clearly obvious.

I am shifting my primary focus back to design: book formatting, cover design, and logo design.

Why this shift makes sense

At its heart, my work has always been about books as objects of care—stories that deserve to be held, returned to, and lived with.

Over time, author marketing slowly took up more space. While that work has been valuable, I found myself longing to return to the making side of publishing:

  • shaping a cover that invites a reader in

  • designing interiors that are calm, readable, and beautiful

  • honoring stories through thoughtful presentation

Bookmaking is where my skills, energy, and creative joy naturally converge.

So instead of trying to do everything, I’m choosing to do fewer things more intentionally.

What’s changing—and what’s not

Solar Stories

Solar Stories will now focus on:

  • Book cover design (with an emphasis on hand-drawn, cozy, story-forward styles)

  • Ebook + print formatting

  • Logo design

This allows me to work deeply, slowly, and with care—rather than stretching across too many offerings.

Sustainable Author Marketing Strategies

The author marketing and strategy aren’t disappearing.

They’re simply being re-homed inside Harvest & Handbound where they belong.

Harvest & Handbound is my writing-focused platform. It’s a cozy combination of my own fiction writing journey, building writing rhythms that fit your natural writing seasons, and how to balance being a stay-at-home mom while being a writer–all rooted in the the desire to glorify God.

Harvest & Handbound is where conversations about:

  • sustainable author visibility

  • creative routines and rhythms

  • showing up without burnout

  • tending a writing life over time

can live in community, not urgency.

An Early Bird Invitation

To mark this transition, I’m opening a small window of early bird pricing—both as a thank-you and as a gentle way to step into this next season together.

A closing thought

This shift isn’t about doing less out of fear.
It’s about doing less with intention.

About choosing craft over noise.
Care over speed.
And stories over systems that demand constant output.

If this resonates with you, you’re warmly invited to step into this next season with me. And on February 1st, this Solar Stories Substack will merge with Harvest & Handbound.

You can reach out any time—or simply linger here and watch how the work unfolds.
